  12) Marriage after the fall

            Adam                               Eve

            Adam & Eve's perfect marriage

Remember, there is no mention of sin for approximately 100 yrs., this was the condition of Adam and Eve's marriage at that time! They were both created in God's image and God says "He is Love" and in 1Cor 13:4-8 we know that "Love is patient, love is kind, is not jealous; love does not brag, is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." These qualities of love filled both Adam and Eve.

                Adam                             Eve

Genesis 3:6-8
"When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day."

Instead of being filled with the fruit of the Spirit, Adam and Eve for the first time start showing the lusts of the flesh. These are all found in Galatians 5:16-23 "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

We can conclude from this, that Adam and Eve were full of the fruit of the Spirit until the day they fell and then the lusts of the flesh took their place. There are 9 fruit of the Spirit and 16 lusts of the flesh listed - the last one being "things like these", so we're going to take a little liberty and insert lusts of the flesh as we see fit.

AFTER THE FALL
Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they knew that they were naked and they saw each others faults.

                Adam                               Eve

Now the blaming begins:
Genesis 3:11-12
"And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?" The man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate."
