The Unfolding of God's words gives light, Ps 119:130. We must follow the while chain of evidence, beginning to end to find truth.

Psalms 119:130

"The unfolding of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple." (NASB) Unfolding is the Hebrew word peh'thagh also translated by Rotherham as "The opening of Thy words sheddeth light..."  Let's use the following example, when police are trying to unravel the mystery of a crime such as murder, they make a time chart of events surrounding the crime.  In a very similar way, we are using Bible forensics to arrive at the truth

A look at the word for unfolding, we go to the root word of the Hebrew word peh'thagh and find that it is pah'thagh which is translated as open, like opening a door.  When one opens a door, opening it wider and wider until we are able to enter through it.  Unfolding is true to this meaning and as we add more scriptures which speak of the same subject, a bigger, more full picture comes into light.

Psalms 119:160

"The sum of Thy word is truth, and every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting.."  One can not come to the truth , unless we look at all the evidence.  The result of falling short of doing this is prejudice.  A prejudiced man jumps to conclusions without examining all evidence in an unbiased manner.

Acts 18:26 (24-28)

"Now a Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus; and he was mighty in the Scriptures. This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things concerning Jesus, being acquaintedonly with the baptism of John; and he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside an explained to him the way of God more accurately. And when he wanted to go across to Achaia, the brethren encouraged him and wrote to the disciples to welcome him; and when he had arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace, for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, demonstrating by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ."

From the above Scripture, we see that Apollos only saw part of the picture - or lets say one piece of the puzzle. The word accurately in verse 26 in the original Greek is akribos, which means from one end to another, or from beginning to end. Akribos is found two times in Mark 13:27 "from one extremity (akribos) of earth to the extremity (akribos) of heaven.

Apollos only knew the baptism of John. You will see for yourself, if you do the foundation word study on Baptism (every place baptism is found in the New Testament) that there are at least 4 different baptisms). We are not focusing on baptism here, only using this as an example of a complete search of the Bible from beginning to end.

To conclude, Priscilla and Aquila showed Apollos the whole trail of evidence, or connected the dots starting with his knowledge of the Old Testament Scriptures, leading to Jesus, being the Christ. With the Bible as our guide, we will now attempt to use this same method following the trail of evidence, from beginning to end, and connect all the evidence in between.
